2015-04-13If you are driving into town from the airport or Athens, follow the sign that says "beach", not the sign that says "center". I stayed two times in Pharae Palace for only one night the first time and two the second time. Both were pleasant stays. This is an upscale hotel. The location looks over the waterfront. Sometimes there are motorcycles zooming up and down the street, to show off, and are very loud if you are sitting outside or have the door open. It was over quickly and it was not a problem for sleeping when the door was closed. The staff was formal, but nice and helpful. The parking along the street is not so great, but I found out on the second trip that there is a parking garage and they will give you a special opener to park in there. The wifi in my rooms was great. There is a nice bar up on the roof and you can sit outside as well. It is really beautiful up there. The breakfast buffet on the roof is magnificent! To get to the "old" town, you will need to take a bus or taxi or else it is a long walk.
